All of our associates are highly educated and they have experience in a variety of technical fields, which include Electricity, Magnetism, Electronics, Optics, Chemistry, Material science, Biotechnology, Bio-informatics, Medical Engineering, and Computer Science. Image formation apparatuses, digital cameras, electric discharge machining apparatuses, optical modules, optic fiber, semiconductors, watches, databases, casks for nuclear waste, gas turbines, and cellular phones are just some examples of the technologies handled by the Sakai International Patent Office.
Internationally based corporations represent a growing portion of our clientele. With the growth of the global economy and the further interdependence of nations, our recruitment reflects our provision for further growth in our international practice. Many members of staff at the firm are bilingual and many have work experience with some of Japan's largest multinational companies. Each patent attorney has a global perspective and provides, in conjunction with our Japanese and non-Japanese support staff, excellent representation for each client wherever they are based in the world.
We also have considerable expertise and experience in prosecuting patents in Japan for overseas clients and prosecuting patents outside Japan for Japanese clients. We have a highly qualified team of bilingual/trilingual associates, who between them thoroughly understand the patent practices of several countries, including the USA, Canada, European Patent Office, the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Israel, India, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Australia, Taiwan, Korea, and China.
At our firm, we believe the key to our success is in the quality of our people. We have specialists in the fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, chemicals and biotechnology as well as additional staff members with expertise in trademarks and licensing. Our patent attorneys and associates have attended distinguished universities. All our specialists are encouraged to pursue advanced degrees relevant to their field and several of them have published papers advancing study in their areas of specialty. Support staff are chosen from a wide range of backgrounds and complement the firm with their attention to detail, multilingual ability, and attentiveness to client needs.
Above all else is our commitment to our clients and the relationships we have with them are our greatest asset. We believe that our clientele, knowledge base, and reputation are of the utmost importance. If we had to choose between being the biggest in our field or the best, we would choose the latter and let the quality of work that we produce for our clients reflect that choice.
